Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

You need to be comfortable in water and able to float. Certification courses include a simple swim and float test; first dives don't require one.

Is there an age limit?

Discover Scuba and Junior Open Water start at 10 years. There's no upper limit — fitness and the medical questionnaire matter, not age.

Do I need a medical certificate?

Everyone completes the PADI medical questionnaire. A 'yes' to any condition means a doctor must sign off before diving. Send it to us before your trip.

How soon can I fly after diving?

Allow at least 12 hours after a single dive and at least 18 hours after multiple dives or days. We schedule your last dive accordingly.

What should I bring?

Swimwear, towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and your certification card if you have one. We provide all diving equipment.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We check the forecast every evening. If conditions would make the dive unsafe or unpleasant, we move you to another day for free or refund you if your trip ends.

Do you offer hotel pickup?

Yes, in Santa Maria and nearby resorts. Tell us your hotel when you book.

Which languages do your instructors speak?

English, Portuguese. Ask us if you need another language — we'll try to match you.

Can I get photos or video of my dive?

Yes, optional photo and video packages are available. The price is always shown before you book.

Can non-divers come on the boat?

Often yes, space permitting. Snorkellers and companions are welcome on selected trips — ask when booking.

How much does diving cost?

A first dive (Discover Scuba Diving) is €110, and a second try dive €80. For certified divers, one guided boat dive is €50, two dives €96, five dives €230 and ten dives €440. Courses: PADI Scuba Diver €320, Open Water €420, Advanced Open Water €300, Rescue €420 and a refresher €85. Night dives add €20, a private guide is €35 per dive, and non-divers can join the boat for €10. All prices are in euros and include VAT.

Do you offer multi-dive packages?

Yes. The more you dive, the less each dive costs: five dives for €230, ten for €440. A package can be spread across your stay and combined with a course.

How do I pay and what is the cancellation policy?

No payment is needed to ask or hold a provisional spot. We'll confirm payment options and the cancellation window in writing before you commit.

I'm certified but haven't dived for years. What should I do?

Book a PADI ReActivate refresher: a half-day review of key skills in calm water, followed by a guided dive. It's the fastest way to feel confident again.
